Goddess
Mariamma Hindu temple, a couple blocks south of Indpendence Palace
This
bustling scene, lacking the quiet solemnity of a Buddhist temple or Christian
church, greets the visitor at the door. I never witnessed this marketplace
atmosphere at Hindu temples in India..
Vendors
contribute to the marketplace atmosphere.
The
young man was in distress--guilt or dire need?--and all three were petting
the statue ardently.
Is
that a motorbike at the end of the hall?
