Every year I visit Chiang Mai I am happy to find an exhibit of a new competition at the art center. This year the exhibit was of young artists. We have just a few here of what I consider representative works. Lots of smiling peasants.































Another nationwide competition had the theme "In the Footsteps of the King." The next two photos were in that competition. This one is made from fabric and provides a 3D effect. Gimick art is pretty popular.

Those tiny lobes are either porcelain or glass, almost every one of them with a photo embedded in it.

A small number of the works in the exhibitions that I have attended are not sentimental but quite serious and critical of society.

No, it isn't installation art, it's just some extreme mechanics on the campus.
