Dongpirang
Village, Tongyeong's museum of street art, is on a high hill just northeast
of the old harbor. It's a neighborhood that was going to be torn down
for redevelopment (probably for an apartment complex where these relatively
poor residents can't afford to live), but the residents used art to rouse
public opinion and get the city authorities to prohibit the development.
