This is embarrassing, having to start off with a borrowed photo. I couldn't get one of the entrance (the steep approach prevents an inclusive shot), so I borrowed this one from Yeongnam Ilbo. Anyway, Bongjeong Temple is in the beautiful environs of Andong. It was built in the seventh century, and looks like it. "Dale's Korean Temple Adventures" is probably the best website for additional information about Bongjeong Temple and for most other Korean temples.

The main entrance. Note how the land drops down on the right.

The main door. Quite modest for a temple this size. Most temples' main doors have the guardians of the four directions, two on each side.

The Dharma drum. You can see the temple's humble main door in the bottom left corner. And of course we have the ubiquitous photo-enhancing fire extinguisher on the right.

The entrance to Bongjeong Temple's Yeongsan Hermitage. The movie Why Has Bodhi Darhma Left for the East? starts off at this hermitage. (You can see views of the hermitage at this Yahoo page, starting at 1 min 55 sec.)
