Andong
is the epitome of the cliche "both old and new." |

Seosan
Seoweon. A seowon is "a private Korean Confucian academy offering
instruction in the classics and honouring the sages with regular memorial
rites." (from Wikipedia's page on Dosan
Seowon.) Around Andong there are about nine seowon; Seosan Seowon
is a relatively minor one. They do not teach Confucian studies anymore,
but are well-maintained with government funding. |
