I
spent only 3 full days in Phnom Penh. It's probably the least popular
city in Asia for tourists. But I would like to stay there a month--imagine
how much there is to discover in this city of over 2 million souls. |
|
This
is sublime art photography, because it cleverly evokes the idea that there
is very little spiritualism in materialistic Phom Penh. Note how the motorbikes
are prominent and the Buddha statue is relegated to the end of the hallway.
And be amazed at how the grey cement symbolizes the material development
of the city. Sometimes my creative genius surprises me. ;) |

On New Year's Eve seemingly everyone in Phom Penh came down to the Royal Palace on the river front for festivities. Here, on Preah Siswat Quay Street, and in the lanes feeding onto it, it was obvious that there was nowhere to advance, but they kept on sitting there, motors idling, and I'm sure eventually dying by the thousands from asphyxiation. (They must have cleaned all the corpses away during the night, because I didn't see any the next morning.) | |
