This frieze adorned one wall of Nan Phaya. (Phaya means stupa. Brian Barry clarifies that there are two kinds of stupas, zedis and pahtos; zedis are bell-shaped, and pahtos are square or rectangular. These are all basically shrines, and the big ones are used as temples.)
