Courtyard
in a luxury hotel. Since my trip in 2002 Luang Prabang has lost much of
its exotic flavor with expensive chic hotels like this one and other new
faux French colonial hotels. And no more dirt roads and back lanes.

Early
morning on the Mekong
In
a tiny hill tribe village along the Mekong. We asked the captain to take
us where tourists don't go. This little girl just happened to be wearing
