The "new" Wat Athvea, about 7 kilometers south of Siem Reap. The original (which you can see in back of the new one) was established in the twelfth century.

Sandstone and laterite are used in the Angkor temples. The temple tout in the picture was like most others in Cambodia--informative and pleasant--and didn't ask for any money (hoping that the tourist knew the custom of offering).
